Study on stress transfer between soil nail and surrounding soil

Based on shear stress-relative displacement curve between soil nail and soil, the force transferring mechanism is analyzed. A mechanical model of stress transfer is built. The formulas of stress distribution and deformation along the soil nail are given according to equilibrium conditions of the section. The law of stress transferring between soil nail and surrounding soil is analyzed theoretically; the results of the model are agreed with engineering data very well.
