Research on dynamic early warning method of slope deformation monitoring during excavation based on designed safety factor and failure mode

Different geological structure characteristics of slopes lead to different deformation regulations and failure mechanisms of slopes; deformation regulation and magnitude of the same slope are different due to different excavation stages of slope; simple and static early warning index of slope monitoring obtained by engineering analogism is difficult to express the dynamic deformation features and slope regulations during excavation. A new study through and corresponding method to obtain adequate dynamic early warning indexes of slope monitoring during excavation are put forward, which are based on designed safety factor and failure mode of slopes. The study thought and method are applied to obtain the early warning index of left bank slope of plunge pool of spillway during excavation from 755 m to 740 m at Nuozadu Hydropower Station; and by comparing the value of early warning index obtained by the study thought and method with the value of field deformation monitoring, it is shown that the slope is stable during the excavation, which is in concordance with actual engineering so as to prove that the study thought and method are feasible and effective.
