Unified Solution to Expansion of Cylindrical Cavity for Geomaterials with Strain-softening Behaviour

In this paper, a stress-dropping strain-softening model is proposed based on strain-softening behaviour of geomaterials. fly using yield function with the form of twin shear stress unified strength theory.unified formulas for calculating stress and displacement fields are derived for expansion of cylindrical cavity ininfinite mass. The effect of different parameters of strain-softening, yield functions on stress and dlsljlacement fields, development of plastic zone is analyzed using the derived formulas.
