Study on Seeds Germination and biological characteristics of Lavandula Munstead

The study on seed germination of Lavandula Munstead that influenced by temperature, illumination and GA3 was explored. With a view to find the effective method that improved the germination rate of seeds so that it could provide the scientific and theoretical basis for sowing and breeding. The results showed that:(1) seeds of Lavandula Munstead were black brown and glossy. The seed coat that had waxiness was stiff and keratinized. The weight of 1 000 seeds was(0.947±0.045) g;(2)The seed germination rate of Lavandula Munstead is highest by soaking treatment of 200 mg/L GA3 for 6 hours, which was 94.6%;(3)The dark condition at 15℃ the seed germination rate was the highest, which was 95.2%. The second highest was 94.6% at 20℃, but seedlings grew better compared to 15℃;(4) Light treatment for 10 hours could benefit seed germination, which reached 94.6% and made seedlings grow best;(5)By means of different concentrations of GA3 treatment, the germination rate was the best by 200 mg/L GA3 treatment, which was 94.0%.
