Antiviral activities of flavonoids isolated from Lonicera japonica Thunb.

Objective:To search for the antiviral components from the flowers of Lonicera japonica Thunb.and de- termine the content of luteolin-7-O-glucoside in Flos Lonicerae Japonicae.Methods:To isolate components in various column chromatography and test the antiviral activities in CPE methods.The content was determined by RP -HPLC method.The separation was carried out on a DIKMA Diamonsil(250 mm×4.6 mm,5 μm) at 30 ℃.The detection wavelength was set at 350 nm.The mobile phase was acetonitrile (A) and 0.5%acetic acid (B),gradient elution:0-30 min,A:10%→30%and B:90%→70%.The flow rate was 1.0 mL·min~(-1).Results:Two fla- vonoids were isolated from Flos Lonicerae Japonicae.These flavonoids showed antiviral activities against respiratory viruses.The content of luteolin-7-O-glucoside was determined by RP-HPLC.Conclusion:The flavonoids are the effective components in Flos Lonicerae Japonicae.This method is simple and accurate.
