Epidemiological Study of Endemic Fluorosis in Tumotezuoqi in 2004-2006

Objective To well know and master the status of endemic fluorosis in Tumotezuoqi. Methods The fluorosis content of drinking water was determined by FSIE.Results Totally 352 natural villages were surveyed. There were 19.60% fluorosis content in drinking water beyond national standard and involving 37947 people. Totally 167 historical illness of villages were second surveyed, and there were 28.14% fluorosis content in drinking water beyond national standard. the rate of scrap of defluoridation projects was 17.31%. Conclusion It is an effective way to lower fluorine in drinking water by altering water source. The quality and its normal manipulation of this project is key to assure the effect.
