Effects of pulmonary function training on postoperative recovery of patients underging thoracic surgery

Objective To investigate the effects of pulmonary function training round the operation period on recovering from thoracic surgery.Methods 67 patients who underwent thoracic surgery during Sep.2003 to May.2004 were randomly divided into two group,35 cases in experimental group,32 cases in control group.Round the operation period,pulmonary function training was taken in experimental group,compared with regulate nursing in control group.Record the informations after operation.Results Short duration of chest tube drainage,short postoperative hospital stay and less puimonary complications were observed in experimental group.There was significant different between two groups(P0.05).Conclusion Pulmonary function training improves recovery from thoracic surgery and effectively reduces postoperative pulmonary complications.
