Correlation between Lymphocyte-monocyte Ratio with Disease Activity of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus and Degree of Lupus Nephritis

Objective To investigate the relationship between lymphocyte-monocyte ratio and disease activity of SLE and degree of lupus nephritis.Methods A total of 102 SLE patients admitted to Dermatological Department and Nephrology Department of Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University from January 2016 to September 2019 were enrolled,46 of whom were LN inpatients.According to SLEDAI score,37 cases were in inactive group(SLEDAI≤9)and 65 in active group(SLEDAI﹥9).According to 24-hour urinary total protein,patients were divided into mild proteinuria group(24-hour urinary total protein0.5 g)56 cases,moderate proteinuria group(24-hour urinary total protein 0.5-4.0 g)36 cases,severe proteinuria group(24-hour urinary total protein≥4.0 g)10 cases.The LMR values of the above groups were compared.Spearman′s correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlation between LMR and SLE patients′ laboratory indexes. Multiple linear regression model was used to analyze the relationship between LMR and SLE disease activity.Results The LMR value of SLE patients in active group was lower than that in inactive group(P0.01).The LMR value of SLE patients in moderate proteinuria group and severe proteinuria group were lower than that in mild proteinuria group(both P0.01).The LMR of SLE patients was negatively correlated with SLEDAI score(r=-0.628,P=0.000) and 24-hour urinary total protein(r=-0.233,P=0.001),and positively correlated with C3 complements(r=0.272,P=0.006),C4 complements(r=0.270,P=0.006),platelet count(r=0.263,P=0.007),hemoglobin(r=0.233,P=0.018).Multiple linear regression showed that LMR was independently associated with SLE disease activity(β=-3.589,95% CI:-5.221--1.958,t=-4.366,P=0.001).Conclusion The LMR value is closely related to SLE disease activity and proteinuria,and is of great significance for the assessment of SLE disease activity and degree of lupus nephritis.
