A evaluation of life quality and influence factors of different surgery mode for elderly patients with femoral intertrochanteric fracture

Objective: To compare the life quality of two surgery modes(Inter-Tan intramedullary hook pin and bone plate of internal fixation) for treating elderly patients with femoral intertrochanteric fracture, and analyze the influencing factors of postoperative life quality. Methods: 131 elderly patients with femoral intertrochanteric fracture were divided into Inter-Tan intramedullary hook pin group(82 cases) and bone plate of internal fixation group(49 cases) as different surgery method. And SF-36 questionnaire was used to evaluate the quality of life for patients about postoperative 48-72 hours, and to compare the various aspects about quality of life, comprehensive score and the influence factors for quality of life between the two group. Results: The scores of physical function(PF) and body pain(BP) of patients treated by Inter-Tan intramedullary hook pin treatment were significantly higher than those treated by bone plate(t=2.924, t=2.924; P0.05). In series of influence factors, lower age(OR=0.259, 95%CI=0.110~0.608), complex fracture(OR=3.920, 95%CI=1.835~8.374), complication of internal medicine(OR=2.164, 95%CI=1.068~4.383) and poor functional results(OR=4.276, 95%CI=2.145~8.524) were the main influence factors for postoperative quality of life of patient. Conclusion: For femoral intertrochanteric fracture, Inter-Tan intramedullary hook pin are better than bone plate of internal fixation in PF and BP. Age, fracture type, complication of internal medicine and functional result are main influence factors for postoperative quality of life of patients.
