There are many factors that may influence the clinical decision for revascularization of coronary heart diseases. The current decision is made mostly on the anatomical conditions of the coronary ateries,we should also take into consideration of other concurrent factors. These may include the stability of the coronary atherosclerotic plaque, the viability of the affected myocardium and whether revascularization may restore the myocardial function and improve the prognosis after PCI or CABG.Additional factors to be considered may include the patients' expected survival time, financial status and personal values, complications with chronic kidney diseases and valvular conditions that require concurrent surgery and the need for repeat revascularization.
