Doctors,Double Role and Medical Expenses Control

ZHANG Liang,XIAO Jin-cheng.School of Health Management,Anhui Medical University,Hefei 230032,China
The analysis of the reform methods and results of our government to control medical expenses indicates that controlling the demanders is not the key to reducing the rising expenses. As the suppliers play a double role in the principal-agent relationship of doctor-patient and the two sides stand in the status of information asymmetry and that mechanism does not impose enough encouragement and restraint on suppliers, therefore,it is likely that the suppliers-induced behaviors occur. It concludes that controlling the supplyers is the key to reducing the medical expenses.
