Determination of optimum operating Reynolds number in an enhancedheater with spiral coil

The running expense model of the heat transfer equipment is established, which aims at the maximum annual total profits. The effect of heat transfer and the characteristics of flow resistance were analyzed for the heat transfer equipment with spiral coil. Then the optimum operating Reynolds number and the economic critical Reynolds number were achieved by solving running expense model. The results show that the enhanced heat exchanger must work at optimum Reynolds number and below economic critical Reynolds number, which is important for realizing operation optimization, decreasing running expenses and raising economic benefit.
