Shape optimization of cable-net structures

Based on the special requirements of deployable space antenna,a shape optimization method is proposed here for the cable-net structure of a perimeter truss type deployable antenna according to its special performance features. In this method,the optimal mathematical model is established with the vertical ordinate of upper cable nodes as variables,surface precision of cable-net and fundamental frequency of structure as objectives. And considering the nonlinearity and complexity of the finite element computation of the cable net,the sequential quadratic programming method is used to solve it. The analysis results of examples show that the shape optimization can effectively improve the structural properties of cable-net structures,and these results can be helpful for engineering practice.
