Fine-structure studies of the ground state of boron-like atoms

Based on the tensor expression of the fine-structure Hamiltonian for many-electron atoms,and with the help of the irreducible tensor theory,an analytical method of calculating the fine-structure energy of Boron-like atoms in the ground state has been established.All the angular integrations and spin summations involved in the problem have been carried out explicitly.The energy is expressed finally as a sum of radial integrations.The total energy levels of the ground state of boron-like atoms from Z=5 to 8 have been calculated.The results are in close agreement with the experimental data.
