Immunopathogenesis Research of Chlamydia Trachomatis Infection in Female Reproductive Tract

Sexually transmitted chlamydia trachomatis infection is among the most important global public health concern with major burden on female genital tract because of induction of cervicitis, pelvic inflammatory disease(PID) which often lead to severe clinical sequelae such as chronic pelvic pain,infertility and ectopic pregnancy(EP). Today infection related immunological injury has been mostly recommended as the key pathogenesis.This article will review the current views on the immunopathogenesis in respects of innate and adaptive immune responses to chlamydial infection in female reproductive tract.
