Quantitative Study on Effect of Chinese Medicine Bugu Ⅱ(Herba Epimadii, Fructus Cnidii, etc.)on Metabolism of Compact Bone of Castrated Rats

month-old SD rats (testing, female) were grouped into control group, castrated group and castrated-Chinese medicine group at random. After correspond treatment for 3 months, the pieces of mid-section of tibia of rats in three groups were determined and analyzed by portrait analyzer.The result indicated that the compact bone of rats in castrated group gets thin, the bone marrow cavity is big with osteoporosis due to an obvious increase in bone absorption.The Cinese medicine Bugu II can strongly inhibit bone absorption,remain the thickness of compact bone, and the equilibrium of bone weight after being castrated, which suggested that this medicine could prevent and treat osteoporosis.
