A CALCULATION METHOD FOR NATURAL MODES OF BEAMS WITH COMPLEX BOUNDARY CONDITIONS AND VARIABLE FLEXURAL RIGIDITY

Based on finite element model combined with transfer matrix method, this paper deals with the free vibration problem of a non ̄uniform beam with elastic boundary condition. A number of different frequency equations and mode equations are given. Due to using the nonuniform control parameters, the calculation error appears much smaller then, the conventional results in some examples presented and the computation work is remarkably reduced.
