The PCR analyzing for plasmid pYC of Yersina pestis in China

Objective To clarify if plasmid pYC exists in other ecotype plague of China. Methods Primer yd1 and yd2 were designed and tested using PCR. Results Among the tested 802 strains including 18 biotype in 11 plague foci, 6 strains from Yunnan, 5 strains from Guangxi and 6 strains from Guizhou were positive, the remaining 163 strains from Yunnan were negative. Conclusions The genotypes of ydl and yd2 only exist in some strains of Guizhou, Guangxi and Yunnan, which can be used as label gene of plasmid pYC. No new plasmid pYC of 6×103 is found in other ecotype plague of China.
