Correlation of serum 25-( OH)D_3 levels with maternal endothelial injury and placental apoptosis in pregnant women with preeclampsia

Objective To explore the difference of serum 25-( OH)D_3 levels in pregnant women with preeclampsia( PE) compared with healthy pregnant women,and its correlation with maternal endothelial injury and placental apoptosis. Methods 83 cases of PE pregnant women admitted to the hospital from February 2014 to December 2017 were selected and 70 healthy pregnant women treated in our hospital. Serum of both groups was collected at 32 weeks of gestation and before delivery. Serum 25-( OH)D_3 levels in samples of both 32 weeks of gestation and before delivery,as well as endothelial lesion marker soluble endoglin( s ENG),soluble fms-like tyrosine kinase-1( s Flt G-1),interferon γ inducible protein-16( IFI16) and tissue transglutaminase( Ttg) in samples collected before delivery,were determined by enzyme immunoassay. The expressions of apoptosis molecules Activator Protein 2α( AP-2α),the second mitochodria-derived activator of caspase( Smac),phosphatase and tensin homolog( PTEN),X-linked inhibitor of apoptosis protein( XIAP) and Survivin in placenta were determined by real time-PCR after delivery. Results The serum 25-( OH) D_3 levels,collected both at 32 weeks of gestation and before delivery,in pregnant women with PE were significantly lower than healthy women( P0. 05). As in pregnant women with PE,the serum levels of all endothelial lesion markers tested were relatively higher in group with lower serum 25-( OH)D_3 levels( P0. 05),the expressions of AP-2α,Smac and PTEN were higher while the expressions of XIAP and Survivin were lower in group with lower serum 25-( OH)D_3 levels( P0. 05). Conclusion The serum 25-( OH) D_3 levels in pregnant women with PE were significantly lower than healthy women,lower serum 25-( OH)D_3 levels may enhance vascular endothelial injure and promote apoptosis of cells.
