Expression of PTEN and PPAR_γ in human breast cancer

Background and purpose:The expression of tumor control gene PTEN and proxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ(PPARγ) play a very important significance in human breast cancer.PPARγ is a nucleus receptor transcription factor,can raise the expression of PTEN.The purpose of the study was to investigate the expression of PTEN and PPARγ in human breast cancer,and give a basic data for the characteristics of these two gene proteins in tumor cells and correlation between their expression and ER,PR,HER-2. Methods :The 66 HBC cases were collected randomly,streptavin peroxidse immunohistochemistry was used.The relationship between expression of PTEN and PPARγ and the clinical stage were analyzed,Pathology typing,metastasis rate of lymph node,the expression of HER-2,ER,PR were done. Results :The positive rate of expression PTEN and PPARγ in later stage of HBC were 68.2% and 63.6%.For PTEN,nuclear expression was 72.86% and normal expression was 27.14%.The normal expression of PPAR-γ was 87.3%.With the development of clinical stage the expression rate of PTEN and PPARγ were down(P 0.05).Correlation analyzing showed that there was no relationship between PTEN and PPARγ、ER、PR、HER-2(P 0.05),and the same between PPARγ and ER、PR、HER-2(P 0.05). Conclusions :With the development of the clinical stage,the positive rate of expression of PTEN and PPARγ are coming down.The cytoplasm expression of PTEN became nuclear expression.The nuclear membrane expression of PPARγ became cytoplasm expression.
