Yan Guixing et al. (Grassland Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Hohhot)
The chromosome numbers, karyotypes, genomes, relationships between species, and evolution trends of 33 forage species belonging to 7 genera of Gramineae are reported in this paper. All of them are natives of China. These species:5 in Agropyron, 8 in Elymus, 10 in Roegneria, 2 in Leymus, 2 in Eremopyrum, 5 in Bromus and 1 in Hordeum, 21 species of them are first reported. Result:chromo ome base numbers are X=7, and the chromosome of these species comprise m and sin(with the exeception of Eremopyrum orientale). Many species have symmetrical karyotype with them. They have 1 to 3 pairs satellite chromosomes.
