Effect of Yeast on the Growth Rate and Quality of Dorking

An animal endogenous yeast strain was isolated from the intestinal canal of dorking.With fermentation of the strain,fermentation broth of OD680nm 48.1 was gotten.The effect for developing growthrate and quality of dorking after fed with the broth was studied.The result showed that the average weight of dorking fed with 0.5 mL fermentation broth for each everyday was 193 g more than that of the control group and the percentage of increase was 7.7%.The data for cock was 163 g and 5.9%,while that of hen was 224 g and 9.9%.It was conculded that the weight increment of hen with the yeast was more than that of cock..After fed with the yeast,feed conversion ratio was reduced from 1.685 to 1.567 and the percentage was 7.0%.Further study found that feeding yeast could significantly improved the quality of dorking,of which crude protein content,total free amino acids,essential amino acids and savory amino acid increased 4.0%,23.6%,4.2% and 32.0% than the control group,respectively.It indicates that feeding yeast can not only significantly improve the growthrate of dorking and reduce feed conversion,but also greatly improve the quality and flavor of chicken.
