Computation of Optimal Power Flow by Guiding of Search Direction

An algorithm is presented to solve OFF by the guiding of search direction. According . to the property of OFF with multitudinous inequalitys, a structure of multiple-processing is taken. An extended damping factor is used to restrict and to guide the search direc-tion of the negative reduced gradient. The damping factor is suitably reformed accordance with the critical state of the control variable. Different scaling factors are adopted to different types of the control variable.The size of a critical inequality is confined by the restricting of step length. The multiplier penalty function method is a final stage to dealg with inequality constraints. In the programme structure, by combining the P-Q decoupling theorem with the sparse method, the power flow equations and Lagrangian multipliers are solved. On this basis, the OPF problems are calculated with the IEEE 11-node system, Anhui 40-node system, 74-node system, 83-node system arid 107-node system, Jing Jin Tang 150-node system.
