STUDY ON THE SPEED OBSERVER AND THE ROTOR RESISTANCE IDENTIFIER FOR AN INDUCTION MOTOR

This paper studies thoroughly on using the available stator current of an induction motor to observe the rotor current and the speed, and to identify simultaneously the rotor resistance. The observer and the identifier are all designed on the base of the law of Lyapunov stability, and all realized by the introduction of the variable structure factor which counteracts the uncertain factors. When the observer and the identifier work independently, their errors all converge asymptotically to zeros; when they are incorporated together, their errors can not be ensured to converge to zeros. The theoretical analysis demonstrates the destruction of the good property, asymptotical convergence with non zero static errors, results from the essential coupling of the induction motor, furthermore it is impossible to realize the incorporated observer and identifier whose static errors are all zeros. The simulations show the validity of the analysis.
