In order to resolve the high temperature corrosion problem in furnace water-cooled wall, improve flame stabilization under lower load and decrease NO x emission at the 2(1025t/h (2×300MW) lean coal tangentially fired boiler in Qingdao power plant, the "tilting horizontal bias combustion pulverized coal burners with side secondary air(THBC-SSA burners)" have been used in the burner reformation. The burners have been in operation successively for over one year and several performance experiments had been carried out. Five results have been got. The first, the flame stability has a large improvement. Flame stabilization without oil can be achieved if the lean coal is of V ad =12.21%, A ad =26.14% under the load of 50% ECR. The second, high boiler efficiency are obtained, the efficiency is up to 92.9% under the load of 240MW~300MW. The third, the content of oxygen of high temperature corrosion filed in furnace water-cooled wall is≥2.0%, therefore, High temperature corrosion are under controlled. The fourth, the emission of NO x is 627~768mg/Nm 3 (O 2=6.0 %) under the load of 240MW~300MW, which is the best level among all the lean coal-fired units in China. The fifth, nearly twenty million RMB benefits are directly brought to the power plant due to lower coal and oil consumption and the settlement of high temperature corrosion problem. In general, this technology has not only achieved satisfactory comprehensive effects with high combustion efficiency, flame stability, low NO x emission, resistance to slagging and high temperature corrosion, but also brought great economic benefit to the power plant.
