APPLICATION OF SUPER CONDUCTING MAGNETIC ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEM--SMES IN WIND POWER SYSTEM OF NETWORK FORMING

The development of wind power system is tending to the network forming system(the wind generator is directly connected with power system). But the change of motivates mechanical power caused by the charge of wind velocity leads to the fluctuation of output real and reactive power. So this paper puts forward a method of using super conducting magnetic energy storage system-SMES to level off the voltage and frequency. the regulation and optimal control methods of SMES are described in detail. The SMES model and the system lineal model are given. The genetic arithmetic is adopted to get optimized feedback equation and the MATLAB software package is used to design controller. Computer simulation results indicate that a SMES unit could greatly improve the stability of wind power generator of network forming.
