TREATMENT OF LINES WITH MUTUAL INDUCTANCE IN POWER SYSTEM FAULT CALCULATION

In the power system fault calculation method based on node admittance matrix Y, the construction of Y is complicated because of the existence of lines with mutual inductance, especially when there are faults on them. This paper presents a simple algorithm to treat multiple mutual lines as well as segmental mutual lines based on mathematical analysis. And a universal rule as the guidance in the separation of segmental mutual lines under fault condition is proposed. The algorithm and rule presented make the fault calculation method flexible enough to meet the requirements of large power system with multiple mutual lines, multiple segmental mutual lines, and multiple faults on mutual lines. And the practicability of fault calculation software can be greatly promoted.
