PAHs EMISSION FROM A FLUIDIZED-BED MSW INCINERATOR

Trace organic pollutants such as polycyclicaromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)and dioxins, emitted during coal and waste co-incineration are carcinogenic and mutagenic to human health, in environment. Numerous experiments forPAHs emission have been proceeded on a 150 t/D circulation fluidized-bed MSW-coal co-combustion incinerator. The flue gas is sampled from three ports of the combustion system: mid-economizer, before and after the ash-removing scrubber. After pretreatment, the samples are analyzed for 17 PAHs(including the 16 of them recommended by the EPA, USA) by using a gas chromatography. A significant result for affecting the PAHs emission and the PAHs removing efficiency for wet scrubber is achieved and discussed.
