AVAILABLE TRANSFER CAPABILITY CALCULATION WITH UNIFIED POWER FLOW CONTROLLER

In electricity market, Available Transfer Capability is utilized to indicate market participants to make economic transactions. It is more important in theory and practice to study the calculation of Available Transfer Capability taking account of FACTS devices. Based on optimal power flow, the mathematic model of ATC with unified power flow controller is presented in this paper. A power injection model that transfers the control of unified power flow controller towards the power flow to the two nodes is proposed. Sequential quadratic programming method is applied to calculate the ATC. The effectiveness and feasibility of the presented model and approach is supported by the tests on the IEEE-30 bus system.
