Synchronous Rectification Approach for Flyback Inverter

A novel flyback inverter is presented in this paper. It is composed of two bi-directional flyback converters, which is connected in parallel at the input-end and in series at the output-end. Based on the continuous conduction mode (CCM) operation of the flyback inverter, synchronous rectification control scheme is established, which is simple than that of convention current mode high-frequency link inverter. Synchronous rectification in large power stage and soft switching in small power stage reduces the conduction losses of the rectifier diodes and improves the efficiency of the inverter up to 85.8%. The basic operational principles, the design of the main circuit parameters and synchronous rectification control characteristic are presented in this paper. A correction and advance of the inverter are verified by the test results, special in the low voltage and large current converter condition.
