Zonal-voltage Control for Active Distribution Network Based on Distributed Static Synchronous Compensator

The integration and grid-connection of large-scale distributed generations(DGs) in active distribution network(ADN) brings new challenges and development opportunities to voltage control technologies. In this paper, a layered and staged voltage control frame based on the response rate of voltage control devices was proposed. The investigation focuses on the two-stage zonal-voltage control(TSZVC)scheme based on the coordination between the distributed static synchronous compensator(DSTATCOM) and DGs in the zonal-voltage control layer: in the primary control, only the DSTATCOM compensates the voltage with local information and the power flows of adjacent lines; in the secondary control,the DSTATCOM shifts part of the reactive power demands to DGs, which aims to retain the sustainable voltage compensation ability. Finally, simulations in Simulink software environment verifies that, the TSZVC improves the voltage quality of each point of common coupling(PCC) in the region,avoids the interaction among the voltage control devices.
