A Successive Linear Integer Programming Methodology for Capacitor Switching on Distribution Systems

A Successive Linear Integer Programming (SLIP) methodology for capacitor switching on distribution systems is Presented in this paper. Capacitor switching is formulated by a SLIP model. The whole capacitor switching problem is dealt with as a series of subproblems of linear integer programming. DUal relaxation method is used to solve each relevant linear programming subproblem. To prevent the solving process from oscillation, some spotal techniques are adopted. Integralization is carried out in each subproblem to deal with integer constraints and finally to find out an optimal integer solution.Digital tests are carried out and results show that the pro[XSed algorithm is practical and efficient for distribution systems loss minimization and can be used to optimize real distribution system operation.
