A Generalized Definition of Instantaneous Reactive Quantity in Nonsinusoidal Three phase Systems

By directly taking the instantaneous 3 phase voltage and 3 phase current as two vectors with three components respectively,the instantaneous reactive quantity is defined as the outer product of votage and current vectors.Without any additional transformation,the definition can be applied to 3 phase 3 wire power systems as well as 3 phase 4 wire power systems and can be easily extended to n phase systems,so that it may be found useful in very wide fields of application.
