Han Ziman(PLA Collage of Foreign Languages, Luoyang 471003, China)
The author argues that discussions in literary theories—especially in post-colonialism—about hybridity is also applicable tostudies on literary translation. This is because in literary translation, all the translated texts, as well as some of the source texts, are hybrids. This notion of hybridity as not only has great bearing on a translator’s selection of translating strategies, but also helps to change some ofthe accepted conceptions about translation, and thus enables us to have a better understanding of the translation of literary texts.
