Preliminary study of destruction of acetophenone in water by high voltage pulse discharges

In this paper, the experimental results with respect to the destruction of acetophenone in water using high voltage pulse discharges were presented. After 30min discharges, the destruction efficiency of 2.1x10-3M acetophenone reached 92%. At the same time, the destruction pathway and the effect of the addition of gas (dry air O2 or O3) to the reactor on the acetophenone destruction were studied. These studies will be helpful to the treatment of organic wastewater using high voltage pulse discharges.
