Studies on decolorization of reactive violet KBR by Rhodopseudomonas palustris.

The decolorization effect of tamed Rhodopseudomonas palustris N strain growth cell under different conditions was studied. The best conditions for the decolorization were temperature 25~30℃ and pH7.0; Under anaerobic condition the decolorization rate was greatly higher than that under the aerobic condition. When the strain was decolorized with the dye stuff as sole source of carbon and energy, the decolorization rate was significantly correlative to the cell concentration; and the decolorization specific activity of the strains was maintained at rather stable level. In addition, the correspondent determination of the strain growth in the process of decolorization indicated that the exponential growth phase of the strain lagged obviously behind that of decolorization.
