Regular wave past piggyback pipeline suspended over a scoured trench is numerically investigated. The two-dimensional Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations are solved by using a three-step finite element method with the Wilcox k?ωturbulence closure.Following a relevant numerical model the effect of scoured trenches with different depths on the vortex shedding and the hydrodynamic forces on piggyback pipeline is investigated. It is found that the trench's depth has significant effects on the uplift forces especially on the large pipeline and the vortex shedding is different from the plant bedform's.
