The Cultural Features and Nature of Symbols Unearthed in Shuangdun Heritage Site

The symbols unearthed in Shuangdun Heritage Site are quite different from those unearthed in Yangshao,Majiayao and Dawenkou in the Yellow River Valley,in Daxi in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River and in Liangzhu in the Taihu Lake Valley as well.The symbols unearthed in Shuangdun Heritage Site have rich cultural connotation,and its composition is more complex and varied than the others mentioned above.The symbols have possessed basic elements and properties of forming the writing.As far as the nature of the symbols is concerned,it is a regional symbol system which has ideographic function and can be regarded as a regional primitive writing.
