Study on the Crude Protein Level of "Chengde White Goose" at 5 to 8 Weeks of Age

This experiment was conducted to evaluate the effects of different crude protein levels on the body size index,slaughter performance and serum biochemical parameters.One hundred and eighty healthy "Chengde White geese" at 4 weeks of age(half male and female) with similar body weight were used in this study.The geese wererandomly allotted to 3 treatments,each group included 5 replicate and one replicate included 12 geese(half male and female).Three diets with crude protein levels of 14%,16% and 18% were fed,and other nutritional indicators were basically consistent.The results showed that different crude protrins had significant effects on daily average body weight gain of "Chengde White geese" aged from 5 to 8 weeks(P0.05),but not significantly affected on daily average feed consumption and feed gain ratio(P0.05).Body size index,slaughter performance,geese meat conventonal componental components content of 8% crude protein group at 5 to 8 weeks of age were higher than 16% and 14% crude protein group.In the same crude protein group,the body size index,slaughter performance and conventional composition of meat of male geese were higher than those of female geese.There were little effect on the organ index of 5-to-8-week-age "Chengde White geese" in different crude protein levels.There were little difference in organ index of male and female geese at the same crude protein level.The total protein,globulin,triglyceride,uric acid,glucose,aspartate aminotransferase in serum of 5-to-8-week-age "Chengde White geese" in 18% crude protein group were higher than those in 16% and14% crude protein group,while serum albumin,cholesterol,gluten the transaminase and alkaline phosphatase were lower than the those in 16% and 14% crude protein groups.In conclusions,when the dietary crude protein was 18%,the growth properties,carcass composition and healthy growth status of "Chengde White geese" at 5 to 8 weeks of age were more ideal.
