Effects of Macerals on the Solubilities of Some Coals in CS 2 NMP Mixed Solvent

The solubilities of five coals ranked from brown coal, gas coal to fat coal in CS 2 N methyl 2 pyrrolidinone mixed solvent were petrographically investigated. The results show that the solubilities of lithotypes from the coals decrease in the order: clarain duroclarain clarodurain durain fusain, whereas the position of vitrain in the solubility order varies with the presence or absence of exinite; the solubilities of different macerals decrease in the order: vitrinite exinite inertinite; among vitrinite, collinite is the most soluble, but the difference in solubility between different subcomponents of vitrinite becomes smaller for higher rank coal; the minerals also affect the solubilities of the coals.
