By using Three-Arm Equilength Y-Mase test, the learning and memory ability of spatial discrimination was studied on aged mice after lysine germanium (Ge-401) administration. The result showed that Ge-401 could improve the learning and memory ability and give dose-dependent relationship. 30 patients suffered from senile intelligence disturbance were tested by using Memory Scale for senile dementia examination. 3 months after Ge-401 ad- ministration (25mg/t.i.d×90 days) the patients' intelligence as markedly improved. The effective rate 60％ and significantly effective rate 20％ were observed.
