The Resourceful and Environmental Significance of Natural Gas Hydrates

Zhang jin chuan Zhang jie (University of Petroleum Beijing, 102249)
Natural Gas Hydrate occurs at conditions of low temperature and high pressure, it is a special solid crystal compound composed of natural gas molecule and water molecule. It mainly distributes in long ice crust and shallow continent and deep oceanic sediment. The exploitation and application of Natural Gas Hydrate involve tow issues: consided from resource aspect, it contains a very large amount of gas resource and will provide us with sufficient clean energy in future; consided from environment aspect, the release of CH4 from Natural Gas Hydrate can cause the global climate change and ocean disaster. Before the exploitation and application of Natural Gas Hydrate, we must have foresight measures, avoide it's negtive influnce to the environment.
