Preliminary Study on Influence Factors of Hemp Pollen Germination and Storing Pollen

The test of pollen germination of six different hemp varieties was conducted by setting different temperatures and concentrations of sucrose, boric acid and Ca2+. The results showed that hemp pollen germination rates reached the highest when being cultured in the liquid medium containing 15% sucrose and 80mg/L boric acid , while the highest growth rate of pollen tube was obtained under the condition of 20mg/L boric acid, and Ca2+ inhibited the germination, the optimal temperature was 25℃. When being stored in room temperature, the hemp pollen could only last 3 days and then lost viability quickly. Under sealed and dry condition, its viability could last 30 days at 1~4℃ and it still kept a high germination rate (34%) at -20℃ for 120 days。
