Given the rapid development of urbanization and urban expansion in China, the conflicts between the demand and supply of recreational space for urban residents become increasingly fierce. This paper discusses the characteristics of the spatial structure of urban recreation in demand and supply, analyzes their formation factors, and puts forward an ideal model for the spatial structure of recreation.A case study is provided to investigate the distribution, usage of recreation sites in Dalian's main city area, and the characteristics of recreationists needs in the city.Conflicts between supply and demand of recreation sites are analyzed, followed by the structural classification and whole pattern of the city recreational space.
