Study on Measuring Method of Particle Size of Raindrop and Its Improvement

Since 18th century, people has found out several methods for observing the particle size of raindrop, among which, the method of filter paper colored patches is easy operation, low cost and being widely used up to now. While the traditional way of data processing not only makes work many and diverse, but also exits greater errors. It is shown by the practice that to calculate the area of colored patches by using Auto CAD software to map raindrop colored patches and convert into the particle size of raindrop by using Excel software can greatly reduce the amount of work and increase the precision of raindrop measuring. The paper recommends a raindrop sampler, which is designed by the author.
