Safety evaluation of interventional treatment in gynaecological diseases.

Objective To evaluate the safety of interventional treatment in gynaecological diseases.Methods Interventional radiological treatment was performed on 35 gynaecological patients.The operation time,formatiom of collateral circulation,pathological changes in myometrium after embolization and radiation dose to patients during operation were investigated.Results The operation time:the mean time was(40.3±6.1)min.Pathological examinations:a few necroses in endometrium(2/15 cases)and shallow myometrium(12/15 cases)appeared.According to the skin radiation measurements of 20 cases,the highest dose was found in sacrum projection(32.88cGy),ovary(16.64)and adenal gland(16.64cGy)came in the second and third.All the radiation doses were within the safe range in normal condition.The collateral circulation from ovarian artery to uterus was confirmed by angiography and 3-D color Doppler imaging.Conclusion The intraarterial interventional treatment is a safe method for gynaecological diseases.
