STUDY ON THE CORDIERITE CERAMICS MATRIXCOMPOSITE REINFORCED BY CARBON FIBER (Cu+Ni)PLATED

Carbon fiber electroless plated by Ni and (Cu+Ni) reinforced cordierite ceramics matrix composite were studied.The influence law that the bending strength\,the rate of dimensions contraction\,the density and the rate of small opening of the composite were changed by the different carbon fiber,the Ni and (Cu+Ni)plating carbon fiber content.The results indicate that the composite with carbon fiber electroless plated by (Cu+Ni) exhibit an increase in bending strength up to 3.5 times in contrast with the cordierite ceramics matrix, it's good for the interface quality of carbon fiber between cordierite matrix.
