THE STUDY ON THE PROPERTIES OF Al_2TiO_5 COMPOSITES CERAMICS

Aluminium titanate is a material which has low-thermal expansion and can be used at high temperature.But it can not be used at some condition because it will be decomposed and becomes Al_2O_3 and TiO_2,and it has low strength.In this paper,Aluminium titanate ceramics was prepared using CeO_2 and MgO as sintering helper,density,thermal expansion,microstucture,mechanical properties etc of materials were measured by instruments such as SEM,XRD,materials-tester etc.The effects of content of CeO_2 and sintering temperature on those performance of materials were discussed systematically,these performances of materials were improved which CeO_2 was added By the experiment,and Properties of 5% CeO_2 MgO AT sintering at 1450℃for 2h were obtained better.
