THE INFLUENCE OF RE DOPANT ON THE LUMINESCENT PROPERTIES OF CaAl_2O_4∶Eu~(2+),Nd~(3+)

Eu2+、Nd3+ and RE3+ doped calcium aluminate phosphors with high brightness and purple long afterglow are synthesized by combustion method.The experimental results showed that assistant activator Pr3+ and Ce3+ dopant has significant effect on the persistent luminesce CaAl2O4∶Eu2+,Nd3+ phosphors.The emission peaks of CaAl2O4∶Eu2+,Nd3+ samples doping Pr3+ were blue-shifted,and ones of CaAl2O4∶Eu2+,Nd3+ samples doping Ce3+ red shifted.Pr3+ or Ce3+ dopant could increase the initial brightness of CaAl2O4∶Eu2+,Nd3+ phosphors,and they may play the role of enhancing the trap density and improving luminescent strength in it.
