^The effect of dietary fibers in management of obese NIDDM patients

The levelsof plasma glucose ,insulin,glucagon were measured in60obeseNIDDM and 30 simpleobese subjectsmatchedforageandhody mass indes (BMI) as control 。We found that :① High fiber breakfast reduced the level ofpostprandial plasma glucose markedly in NIDM。②The maximal amountof insulin secretion decreasedin control group afterhigh fiber diet,but ithadno effect on the secretionof insulin in subjectswith NIDDM。③Theamount of secretion ofglucagon was lower after high fiber diet 。The results showed thathigh fiber dietmight reduce postprandial dlucsoe in NIDDM,regulate the secretionof glucagonandimprovethehyperinsulinemia in obese subjects。
